Position Overview

As an integral member of Grantek's Smart Packaging Solutions Team, you will play a crucial role in the technical implementation and upkeep of automation systems for our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass the commissioning, testing, and programming of automation instrumentation and control systems, along with preventive maintenance and repair services for a variety of manufacturing automation systems, including but not limited to: PLCs, HMIs, Sensors, VFDs, and Industrial Networking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and GMP regulations set by both the client and Grantek.
  • Delivering services such as configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting, both on-site and remotely.
  • Interpreting diagrams and technical documentation, including schematics, manuals, standards, and codes.
  • Collaborating with electrical and mechanical installers.
  • Connecting to PLCs and cameras for on-site configuration and verification.
  • Conducting I/O checks.
  • Tuning, focusing, and realigning camera systems.
  • Working closely with the Engineering team on all projects.
  • Providing guidance on mechanical installations and adjustments, troubleshooting software and electrical issues.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Training customer operators and maintenance personnel.
Technologies Utilized:

We recognize that you may not be familiar with all the technologies listed below. With a foundational understanding and a willingness to learn, we will ensure you are equipped with the necessary skills.
  • PLC Programming Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley.
  • Barcode Scanners and Smart Cameras (Cognex).
  • Fundamentals of Ethernet networking.
  • HMI Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Ignition.
  • SCADA Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Inductive Automation.
  • Operating Systems: Microsoft.
  • Project Documentation: Microsoft Office.
Qualifications:
  • Typically, 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Possession of at least one of the following or actively pursuing: EET diploma/ AS degree.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Full-time access to a personal vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% throughout North America.
