Job Summary

Bridgeway Community Health is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our Outpatient treatment team in Salem, OR.

As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide client-centered care utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed services. You will use motivational interviewing techniques to establish therapeutic rapport and facilitate active service engagement.

Responsibilities include conducting assessment interviews using the ASAM and DSM-5, working collaboratively to provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and facilitating evidenced-based groups and individual counseling sessions.

Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least one to three years of drug & alcohol addiction counseling experience.
  • CADC I or higher required; or in candidacy status with the ability to obtain a CADC certification with MHACBO within 6 months.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong computer and time management skills required.
  • Advanced understanding of ASAM PPC-2R and DSM-5 required.
  • Intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules preferred.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.
