As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a critical role in building alliances with clients, providing education and motivation to support them in making positive changes in their lives and reducing the negative consequences associated with substance use and abuse.

You will conduct assessment interviews using the ASAM and DSM-5, work collaboratively with clients, and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address identified treatment and recovery goals.

Key qualifications for this role include an Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or a related field, at least one to three years of drug & alcohol addiction counseling experience, and a CADC I or higher certification or candidacy status with the ability to obtain a CADC certification with MHACBO within 6 months.
