Enterprise Backup Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Backup Engineer to join our team at Johnson Technology Systems, Inc. (JTSi). As a Backup Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust enterprise-level backup solution utilizing NetBackup for all sites within the AECC environment.

• Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for the deployment and sustainment of the NetBackup enclave in the AECC.
• Provide daily administration of the NetBackup tools, including patching and upgrading.
• Monitor utilization of backup resources and notify the AECC lead when additional resources are required.
• Harden the NetBackup products per commercial best practices and government cybersecurity controls.
• Troubleshoot and root cause analysis of any backup-related issues.
• Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation.
• Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents.

• Masters +10yrs, or Bachelors +12yrs experience.
• Senior level experience with the NetBackup suite of products in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with NetBackup in a multi-site deployment.
• Strong automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across the entire technology stack.

• Working knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) process.

• Security+ or equivalent DoD M IA Tech Level II certification.
• Must have (or obtain within 6 months of hire) a computing environment certification as defined in DoD M, such as an automation or DevOps industry certification.
