Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Lansing, Michigan

Salary: $65-75K plus bonus

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Gable Search Group. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the independent assembly, commissioning, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of systems, both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel 70% of the time, both domestically and internationally, to perform site visits and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Interface with customers and/or end-users, vendors, and contractors to schedule and coordinate site visits and ensure timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment, onsite and remotely, and repair equipment installed onsite at customer facilities.
  • Carry out routine inspections of existing system installations and take ownership of the correct implementation of pre-commissioning activities.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions as per specifications to obtain customer acceptance.
  • Support the project team in ensuring all punch list items are cleared and signed-off as per project requirements.
  • Participate in project and construction meetings, as required, and provide technical training to end-user operators and/or maintenance personnel.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility.
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree.
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time and work in a Windows environment.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a clean driving record and not be afraid of heights.
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required.
  • Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) experience highly preferred.
