The Surgical Services Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care within the designated department and shift. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN will engage in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the growth and developmental stages across the lifespan, enabling the nurse to effectively assess and interpret data that reflects each patient's unique status.
In this capacity, the RN must be adept at identifying the specific requirements of patients, ensuring that care is tailored to their age and individual needs, in accordance with established departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the surgical setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the nursing process and patient assessment.
- Maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or possess Compact licensure.
- Obtain BLS certification within the first month of employment.
- Achieve PALS and ACLS certifications within the first year of employment.
