Job Summary

Ryder System is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Milford, MA. As a Senior Level Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical and electronic repairs on heavy duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
  • Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
  • Other support duties as required to support operations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • All other certification as required by location, required
