Residential Life Support Specialist

Job Summary:
Elizabeth City State University is seeking a Residential Life Student Support Specialist to provide support and security services to students residing in our residence halls. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular security rounds, investigating disturbances, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and their guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular security rounds and investigate any disturbances
- Maintain a safe and secure residence hall environment
- Assist University Police, Residence Hall Staff, and other University Officials in student and/or building-related emergencies
- Enforce University and Housing & Residence Life Departmental Policies
- Assist in maintaining a clean environment inside the residence hall
- Monitor and enforce Residence Life Visitation Policies
- Communicate with Live-In Administrators about student and visitor-related issues
- Maintain professional working relationships with students, Residence Life staff, and other University Officials
- Complete and submit on-duty log reports
- Submit incident reports through the university website
- Report facilities-related work orders
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalence
- Experience working in a residence hall setting is preferred but not required
- Background in security and/or related field
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work flexible/rotating shifts
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work 24 hours per week, with flexible/rotating shifts, including weekdays and weekends.
