Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse in our Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients. Under the guidance of our experienced healthcare team, you will utilize your clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment: Conduct thorough multi-system assessments, identifying deviations from normal on routine lab diagnostic tests, and reassessing patients throughout their hospitalization.
  • Planning: Develop individualized nursing plans of care, taking into account the developmental needs of patients, and coordinating care activities with other hospital and clinic departments.
  • Implementation: Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of medical and/or surgical patients, accurately documenting care in the electronic medical record.
  • Evaluation: Evaluate assessment methods, plans of care, and patient responses to treatment, participating in unit quality assurance activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
  • One (1) year recent ICU nursing experience or successful completion of the Kaiser ICU cross-training program.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Two (2) years of recent ICU nursing experience preferred.
  • CCRN preferred.
  • Dialysis, SLED, or equivalent preferred.
