Los Angeles, California, United States Sequence Systems Full time

Senior Consultant / Group Leader – Energy and Utility Economics & Policy

Sequence Systems is seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Consultant, focusing on Energy and Utility Economics and Policy. This role is pivotal in our efforts to enhance our consulting practice, which specializes in the intricate analysis of economic, statistical, financial, and accounting challenges that arise in the regulation and public policy concerning utility and energy sectors.

This position represents a significant opportunity to become part of a prominent consulting firm recognized for its expertise in the energy sector. The successful candidate will have the chance to contribute to a thriving practice and advance towards leadership roles within the organization.

Our firm collaborates with a diverse range of stakeholders, including consumer advocates, regulatory bodies, and legal representatives across North America. We possess extensive knowledge of regulatory and policy matters pertaining to both natural gas and electric power industries. Our analysis extends beyond traditional regulated utilities to encompass upstream oil and gas production, midstream processing, and emerging renewable energy issues.

In addition, we frequently provide advisory services to legislative bodies and regulatory agencies, acting as a strategic partner and economic think tank. Our work includes comprehensive regulatory analyses such as cost of service evaluations, rate design, financial assessments, and performance benchmarking.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who can effectively engage with state and federal regulatory agencies, energy companies, and utility providers. The role will involve conducting economic impact assessments and cost-benefit analyses, along with providing litigation support and developing public policy recommendations.

This position is ideal for a mid-level professional with a background in business, economics, regulatory affairs, or public policy, as well as seasoned individuals seeking a stable and growing organization where they can potentially gain ownership interest.

At Sequence Systems, we value our employees as our most important asset. Our corporate culture fosters mutual respect and encourages the free exchange of ideas, contributing to a vibrant and engaged workforce. We believe that this unique environment has led to high employee satisfaction and loyalty.

We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a strong benefits plan, encompassing medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k plan, life insurance, performance-based bonuses, profit sharing, and generous vacation and sick leave policies. While the role may require occasional travel to client sites, the majority of work will be conducted locally.

Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate from any location within the nation.
