Position: Local Truck Driver - Class A
Key Responsibilities:The Local Truck Driver will be responsible for performing local transportation duties, ensuring timely deliveries to customer locations. This role includes:
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and reporting any maintenance needs to the Supervisor.
- Monitoring fluid levels, including radiator and washer fluid, to ensure vehicle readiness.
- Securing loads with appropriate equipment to guarantee safe transport.
- Effectively maneuvering the truck for loading and unloading as required.
- Unloading products at customer sites and ensuring proper distribution to designated areas.
- Collecting customer signatures and necessary documentation upon delivery.
- Maintaining accurate logs of products delivered, returned, and any related financial transactions.
- Staying in communication with the Supervisor for instructions and updates.
- Assisting with additional tasks to enhance team operations and meet business objectives.
Essential Skills:
- Exceptional customer service skills during delivery and pickup processes.
- Ability to read and write in English for understanding delivery documents.
- Compliance with all DOT safety regulations and company policies.
- Physical capability to lift, push, and pull loads up to 70 lbs, with occasional requirements up to 150 lbs.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with diverse individuals.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while adhering to company standards.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining transportation equipment safely.
- Possession of a valid CDL Class A, B, or C license, appropriate for the vehicle type.
- A minimum of one year of experience in truck driving is preferred.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Flexibility to undertake overnight trips as required by operational needs.
