Vaco is seeking a talented Indirect Procurement Category Manager to join our dynamic team in the Americas Region (Canada, Mexico, USA). This role involves the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for various categories, including capital materials and services such as equipment, service contracts, spare parts, facility maintenance, and IT services. We are looking for a motivated, proactive individual who is committed to achieving success and delivering optimal value for money.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and implement diverse sourcing strategies to enhance procurement capabilities across the Americas, ensuring competitive advantages and sustainable improvements in cost, quality, service, and innovation.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, including strategy formulation, supplier negotiations, award recommendations, business case presentations, risk assessments, and contract management.
  • Conduct total cost of ownership analyses and supply market research, alongside pricing audits and impact assessments to drive continuous cost efficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain vendor performance scorecards focused on quality, value, performance, and customer service.
  • Identify and address strategic supplier performance challenges to guarantee customer satisfaction.
  • Possess a degree in industrial, supply chain, or engineering disciplines.
  • Bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in indirect procurement of materials and services.
  • Professional certifications are preferred (e.g., CPM, APICS, CPSM, CIPS, Six Sigma).
  • Demonstrate significant category expertise in sourcing, contracting, implementation, and project management within a Fortune 500 company, consultancy, or large service industry.
  • Have a solid understanding of current contract language and regulatory requirements.
  • Exhibit proven experience in crafting and executing sourcing strategies that yield measurable cost savings.
  • Possess exceptional negotiation and influencing skills with experience in multi-site implementations.
  • Show strong interpersonal abilities for effective communication, networking, and influence across the organization.
  • Be highly numerate with advanced proficiency in Excel and managing extensive data sets.
  • Approach problem-solving with creativity and innovation.
  • Be a strategic thinker and self-starter, eager to initiate, plan, and drive results.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, utilizing initiative and autonomy.
