A Network Operations Center Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing and responding to the infrastructure within a 24/7/365 NOC environment. The NOC Team is tasked with maintaining an IP network and associated telecommunications infrastructure for Nexstream equipment.
The NOC is a vital part of the Service Delivery Team, managing all incoming tasks such as support and dispatch requests, technical system alerts, resource coordination, interdepartmental communication, and resolving a portion of incoming support cases. This position demands a fast-paced approach, requiring frequent shifts in focus and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
This role necessitates ongoing learning of new technologies, software, and best practices. Continuous personal development outside regular business hours is essential for success and advancement in this position.

Key Responsibilities:- Monitor alert systems and take appropriate actions.
- Assist in managing the emergency process for support requests that require escalation.
- Conduct fault analysis, isolation, and remediation across various technologies including switching, digital, optical, and wireless.
- Organize and prioritize work effectively while adapting to changes quickly.
- Maintain accurate records across various tracking resources.
- Collaborate with field support technicians and management to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Coordinate support teams for maximum efficiency and improved communication.
- Act as a point of contact for all types of service requests.
- Exhibit professional and effective written and oral communication skills, including active listening and customer care.
- Engage directly with customers as necessary.
- Continuously enhance technical skills by resolving incoming support cases to facilitate progression to a technical support role.
- Possess an intermediate understanding of networking technologies and components such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Understand support tools, techniques, and the application of technology in providing IT services.
- Commit to the continuous improvement of self and the team.
- Provide feedback on opportunities to enhance process and workflow efficiency.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Participate in after-hours rotation.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must pass a drug and background screening.
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a one-year college or technical school; or two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with routers and switches.
- Familiarity with SNMP, basic routing, fiber, and wireless technologies.
- Preferred: CCNA or Network+ certification (or equivalent).
