Professional Land Surveyor Job Description

About the Position

Our client, a reputable civil engineering and land surveying firm, is seeking a highly skilled Professional Land Surveyor to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in land surveying, including boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, and construction staking for commercial and residential land development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and contractors to gather and provide information on plats, plans, and drawings.
  • Prepare and process sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions.
  • Conduct research on legal and survey records to obtain property information.
  • Stay up-to-date with applicable codes and standards.
  • Manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Interface with clients, utility companies, construction administrators, contractors, and vendors.
  • Supervise and direct survey crews.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD required, with Civil 3D or Carlson a plus.
  • Field survey experience, especially with Robotic Surveying Equipment and GPS.
  • Proven ability to apply project management principles effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in land surveying, civil engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Active and valid surveyor license in the state of Kentucky.
