Job Summary

Santa Clara University is seeking a highly qualified Academic Professional to serve as the Practicum Experience Lead in the Department of Counseling Psychology. This is a fixed-term, salaried faculty position with a 100% teaching load, including 9 courses per year. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach courses in their area of expertise and support the practicum program within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute practicum experiences for non-licensure track CPSY students, including MA in Counseling and MA in Applied Psychology students.
  • Develop and manage practicum sites, ensuring compliance with BBS requirements and providing meaningful, supervised experience for students.
  • Support the clinical practicum work of the clinical practicum lead, including advising and mentoring students, and serving as a point of contact between the CPSY program and external placements.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement practicum experiences that align with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in their practicum experiences, including identifying career aspirations and developing individualized practicum plans.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (PhD or PsyD preferred; MA with extensive related experience minimum).
  • Experience supervising or managing professional training and/or experience related.
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level (strongly preferred but not required).
  • Licensure as a mental health professional in California (preferred).
