Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Slit Machine Operator to join our team at Smith Management and Consulting, LLC. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing, running, and maintaining slit machine equipment to produce high-quality paper rolls for coupons and advertisements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate slit equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and troubleshoot malfunctions to ensure optimal performance.
  • Feed rolls through machine cylinders and adjust equipment controls as necessary to achieve precise results.
  • Collect and inspect random samples during slit runs to identify any needed adjustments and ensure quality control.
  • Assist with the preparation of shipping materials and resources, and ensure proper procedures are followed during slit and shipping processes.
  • Expedite the prompt resolution of employee, vendor, and customer problems, questions, concerns, and discrepancies, and notify the appropriate personnel of situations that are beyond the scope of responsibility level.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and contribute to the growth and development of our team.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; equivalent work experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Experience in manufacturing or Point of Sale industry is preferred.
  • Must submit pre-employment drug and background check authorization.
Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and materials related to printer press operation. The position requires employees to maintain a physical condition capable of bending, twisting, standing, and walking for long periods, and lifting items up to 75 lbs.
