Job Title: Building Services Manager

Placer County is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Building Services Division, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, managing, and administering various program areas of responsibility within the division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage the work of assigned division staff, including supervising, training, and evaluating personnel.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operations and services of the Building Services Division.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal County staff, management, and external organizations in the interpretation and application of applicable codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the division's goals and objectives, and participate in the development and administration of the division budget.
  • Represent the division to the public, stakeholders, and other agencies in a professional, positive, and productive manner.
Requirements:
  • Five years of increasingly responsible experience in building code inspection and enforcement, planning, engineering, and surveying, or code compliance, including one year of supervisory responsibility.
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, planning, or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid Certificate of Registration as an Inspector issued by the International Code Council.
  • California Building Official license is desirable.
Working Conditions:

The Building Services Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with various stakeholders, including County staff, external organizations, and the public. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
