Position Overview
As a Large Commercial Underwriter II, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate and underwrite commercial business to achieve our financial targets. You will manage a portfolio valued between $15-25 million while also mentoring Underwriter I's and trainees. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing risk acceptability, establishing pricing, adhering to underwriting guidelines, nurturing agency relationships, and enhancing underwriting processes. Collaborating with various departments, you will provide valuable insights to improve our product offerings and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite a portfolio of $15-25 million to meet financial objectives.
- Support the Senior Underwriter team in achieving business goals through effective decision-making and adherence to best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with producers and partners.
- Work closely with the broader Commercial Lines team and other departments to enhance product and service delivery.
- Oversee, train, and mentor Underwriting Assistants while providing guidance to Underwriter I's.

Qualifications
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial insurance.
- Professional insurance designations are advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
