Job Summary

Rinker Design Associates is seeking a highly skilled Senior Transportation Engineer to lead the development of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, outfall analysis, and stream restoration for a wide range of transportation design projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams, ensuring high-quality designs that meet client expectations.
  • Project Management: Lead project meetings, present technical aspects of water resource/hydraulic design, and collaborate with project managers to ensure project schedules and budgets are met.
  • Design Support: Provide design support on multiple projects of moderate size and lead designs on smaller projects, maintaining high standards of work product and quality control.
  • Client Interaction: Interact with clients, customers, agency representatives, and contractors to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist project managers with schedule and budget requirements, demonstrating teamwork and written and oral communication skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Registration: Registration as a P.E. in the State of Virginia is desirable.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in water resource/hydraulic engineering design.
  • Skills: Strong technical design background in water resource/hydraulic design, familiar with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and DEQ standards, and knowledge of CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D) is desirable.
