Adjunct Associate Professor of Coaching

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Associate Professor of Coaching to join our team at San Joaquin Delta College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching organized classes in the Coaching discipline, with a primary focus on the Cheer Team.
Responsibilities- Instruct courses in Coaching, adhering to credit course outlines approved by the Board of Trustees.
- Maintain expertise in current teaching methods, discipline knowledge, and discipline-specific technologies.
- Assist students in achieving stated course objectives, evaluating their progress, and providing guidance as needed.
- Participate in curriculum review, modification, and assessment of student learning outcomes to ensure program success.
- Collaborate with the Division Dean to provide programs, courses, and information relevant to student needs.
- Coordinate with other faculty to select textbooks, audiovisual materials, and other instructional resources.
- Complete reporting procedures for student evaluation, course reporting, and budget development.
- Support the Division Dean in preparing required reports and attending departmental, divisional, and campus-wide activities.
- Plan and complete approved professional development activities each semester.
- Minimum qualifications: Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Previous experience coaching cheer.
- Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education.
- Experience teaching postsecondary courses in Physical Education, Kinesiology, and/or Health Education.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different levels of students' ability and learning styles.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to students from different cultures and ethnic groups.
- Demonstrated ability to use innovative and creative teaching techniques and equipment, including multimedia hardware and software and online instructional techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing curriculum for discipline-specific courses and/or programs.
- Demonstrated leadership, ability, and desire to stay current in the field.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with business and industry to coordinate the educational program with community needs.
- Interest in or knowledge of teaching online and other distance education courses.
