Position Overview:

FirstLine Schools is in search of dedicated and passionate educators for our (Pre) K-8 institutions. We recognize that the effectiveness of our educators is paramount in influencing the success of our students. Educators will be tasked with implementing the curriculum, ensuring student success, and collaborating with fellow teachers within the school and network community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design lessons that promote mastery of standards and align with grade-level expectations and end-of-year assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students by posing relevant, scaffolded follow-up questions that affirm correctly understood content, clarify misunderstandings, or extend students' thinking.
  • Establish effective classroom routines and manage student behavior to minimize disruptions.
  • Motivate and engage students in achieving their goals, instilling the belief that success is attainable through effort rather than innate ability.
  • Prepare students to tackle complex problems with no obvious solutions.
  • Actively seek and respond to feedback while engaging in collaborative problem-solving with colleagues.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • Proven success in working with students in an urban, open admissions educational setting.
  • A BA or BS degree.
  • A strong foundation in and command of the content area.
  • Completion or progress towards Louisiana Teacher Certification (or eligibility for out-of-state applicants).
