Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture, finger, and heel sticks
  • Perform departmental tasks such as restocking, taking temperatures, and centrifuging specimens
  • Utilize patient identification processes to ensure accurate specimen collection
  • Label specimens correctly and transport them to the laboratory in a timely manner
  • Enter test orders and maintain accurate records
  • Adhere to infection prevention protocols and maintain a safe work environment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college credits in biology or chemistry preferred
  • One year of hospital laboratory experience preferred
  • Successful completion of a Phlebotomy certification program with national registry preferred
