We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team in Acute Care Neurology/Neurosurgery. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clear and timely communication to the Registered Nurse regarding patient observations and changes.
- Participate in maintaining a safe environment and utilize interventions to de-escalate patients.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, ambulation, meals, and nourishment.
- Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques and body mechanics.
- Maintain patient safety by performing patient safety checks and following restraint policy standards.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and families.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and provide respectful, culturally appropriate communication.
3:00-11:30pm, every other weekend and every other holiday.
