University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) at New York University is dedicated to securing private funding to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research.
The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support through gifts and pledges to the University.
As a vital part of the Schools & Institutes fundraising team, this position will support the implementation of effective strategies to build and manage fundraisers' discovery and prospect pools, prioritize approaches, steward prospects, and help identify and execute engagement opportunities to attract major gifts.
This role will provide primary support to the Lead School Fundraiser (LSF) for School of Professional Studies, collaborating and coordinating with the Prospect Development and Research teams to identify prospective donors, drive the implementation of donor strategies, and ensure proper acknowledgement for gifts and pledges.
The Development Associate will also review and drive the implementation of donor cultivation and solicitation strategies for individual prospects, identify and suggest ways to target different segments of prospective donors and alumni, and plan and draft correspondence and proposals for prospects and current donors.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a balance between work and personal life.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience in public relations, client relations, fundraising, or corporate marketing, as well as excellent writing, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include experience in an academic environment and working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
The annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00, and NYU aims to be among the greenest urban campuses in the country and carbon neutral by 2040.
