Position Summary:
The Quality Control Lab Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that high-quality products are delivered to the market, adhering to relevant ISO standards. This position involves precise and reliable analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods, contributing to the overall quality assurance processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
To facilitate individuals with disabilities in performing essential functions, reasonable accommodations may be provided:
- Conduct comprehensive chemical and physical evaluations of raw materials, intermediate products, and final products to verify compliance with established standards and specifications. Testing methods include automated and manual titration, viscosity measurements, FTIR spectroscopy, pH testing, tensile strength assessments, and various physical properties evaluations.
- Maintain and service laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere to proper laboratory documentation practices, including maintaining accurate laboratory notebooks.
- Support process control efforts to guarantee that all necessary testing and documentation are completed to confirm product conformity.
- Engage in project support activities, including statistical analysis, investigation assistance, and validation of testing samples.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a quality control laboratory or manufacturing setting, or an associate degree in chemistry or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with analytical testing methodologies, practices, and the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) is essential.
Language Proficiency:
- English proficiency is required; bilingual skills in Spanish are advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, with the capacity to frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Good manual dexterity is necessary for laboratory techniques.
- Use of a respirator (full/half face) may be required for specific tasks.
Work Environment:
- Work will be conducted in a chemical laboratory setting, with potential exposure to various chemicals, including cyanoacrylates and organic solvents.
- Compliance with all laboratory and company safety protocols is mandatory, including adherence to the Lone Worker policy and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
