Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

Are you looking for a challenging role in financial operations? Do you have experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial analysis?

We are seeking a skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team at Backflow Prevention. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing the day-to-day financial activities of the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage invoices/credits, receive & apply incoming payments, monitor and manage customer aging and overdue accounts, perform collections as needed.
  • Analyze and accurately enter payables, issue timely payments, and maintain good relations with vendors.
  • Manage and maintain intercompany account transactions.
  • Oversee the general ledger, ensure accurate recording of transactions, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process payroll, including taxes, garnishments, vacation, sick time, off-cycle payroll runs, SIMPLE Plan administration, benefit program reconciliation, etc.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness of new customers, set credit limits and payment terms in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare tax reports and government filings, including Payroll Taxes, COBRA administration, Quarterly/Annual Reports, Sales and Use Taxes, Business licenses, etc.
  • Set up new hires/discharge employees, manage employment benefits.
  • Manage inventory integrity and make accurate adjustments as needed.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks accounting software, MS Outlook, Word, and Advanced Excel, including queries, pivot tables, formulas.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to do detailed mathematical computations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with internal and external customers.
  • Five or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college is preferred but not required.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year based on location and experience.
