Position Overview

This role is focused on the development and management of AWS infrastructure.

Job Summary

This is a long-term opportunity expected to extend beyond initial expectations.

All candidates are required to work onsite three days a week, and the interview process will be conducted in-person only, featuring intensive technical assessments across all necessary skill areas.

Please refrain from submitting junior candidates or those who may not meet the screening criteria.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide DevOps support for applications deployed in the cloud.
  • Demonstrate strong experience in production support for applications.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of:
  • Linux and web/application servers such as Apache, Nginx, and Tomcat.
  • Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production systems.
  • Monitoring and logging systems including CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and ElasticSearch.
  • Networking concepts such as firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and load balancers.
  • Ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems.

Additional skills include:

  • Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, or other programming languages.
  • Management of hardware, software, security, and internet connectivity, including middleware components.
  • Understanding of user management for both Windows and Linux environments, with integration experience in Active Directory and SSO being advantageous.
  • Fundamentals of software development, problem-solving, documentation, verbal communication, application maintenance, and system security.

Promote team collaboration and process enhancement, along with system administration duties.

Troubleshoot and resolve system service failures by analyzing situations and providing corrective actions.

Monitor system activities, fine-tune parameters, and optimize performance while ensuring security.

Conduct daily system evaluations to assess server resource availability and execute all Linux server tasks.

Implement critical system security by applying best practices and effective cloud security solutions.

Engage in fault analysis and logging for performance exception reporting.

Proactively monitor system performance and engage in capacity planning.

Integrate automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality and reliability.

Implement deployment strategies such as blue-green deployments and canary releases to minimize downtime and risk.

Manage and coordinate software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes across servers, workstations, and network hardware.

Create and modify scripts or applications to automate tasks.

Possess a thorough understanding of protocols including DNS, LDAP, SMTP, and SNMP.

Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations and procedures.

Define and deploy systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on the AWS platform.
