Job Title: Per Diem Medical Surgical Acute Registered Nurse

We are seeking a Per Diem Medical Surgical Acute Registered Nurse to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a Per Diem Medical Surgical Acute Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical surgical acute setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
  • Communicate with physicians about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
Requirements:
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification.
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Passionate about patient care.
  • Minimum of two years of current RN Med/Surg experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program.
  • Active unencumbered RN California state license.
  • One year of Epic experience.

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
