University Physicians' Association is seeking a qualified applicant for a Medical Data Abstractor / Patient Service Representative (PSR) for UNIVERSITY PULMONARY & CRITICAL CARE, a specialty office within a major medical center.
Job Duties:
- Enter abstracted medical data, including diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment information, into electronic health records.
- Prepare medical charts for review and analysis.
- Scan health records into the electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Greet patients in a friendly and timely manner, providing a positive first impression.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding medical care or treatment, referring complex issues to medical assistants or physicians as needed.
- Schedule patients with the appropriate physician or healthcare provider.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the office.
Requirements:
- Clinical background experience with medical terminology and ICD-10 coding.
- 6-12 months of previous medical office experience, preferably in a clinical or administrative role.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and organizational abilities are essential for success in this position.
