Job Overview

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Endoscopy Technician to join our team. As a key member of our surgical center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Assist registered nurses in implementing plans of care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.
  • Anticipate physician needs and provide necessary equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Organize and maintain supplies according to surgical center standards.
  • Ensure patient safety in all aspects of job activities.
  • Collaborate with gastroenterology teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality of care.
  • Prepare patients and procedure rooms before and after procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Assist with patient preparation, including applying EKG leads, B/P cuffs, and O2 saturation monitors.
  • Transport patients to and from procedure rooms.
  • Practice Standard Precautions and follow infection control policies and procedures.
  • May assist during procedures with biopsies, snaring polyps, and other tasks.
  • Clean and maintain endoscopes and other equipment.
  • Assemble and check equipment for proper functioning.
  • Order and stock endoscopy supplies.
  • Assist in postoperative areas as needed.
  • Provide nourishment to patients.
  • Clean pre and post-operative bays and stretchers.
  • Empties laundry as needed.
  • Transport patients to cars.
  • Stock and maintain linen supplies.
  • Attend and participate in surgical center meetings and in-services.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Cooperate with all team members to achieve surgical center goals.
  • Report potential and/or adverse events appropriately.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience as an endoscopy technician.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and software.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and other regulatory policies.
  • Medical office procedures, policies, practices, and medical terminology.
  • Understanding of electronic medical systems.
