About the Role

KBR is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to a US Government customer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Perform all activities associated with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management, and quality control of software for scientific and engineering applications.
  • Requirements Definition: Define system and software requirements and obtain customer approval.
  • Analysis and Prototyping: Analyze customer requirements and translate them into a design, create prototypes, and implement Agile development tools to manage work and collaborate with teams.
  • Software Solutions: Identify potential roadblocks and develop software solutions where the solution is not always well defined.
  • Performance Improvement: Work to improve performance metrics through critical planning and execution of development tasks.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Respond to and resolve software discrepancies against documented requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a team to define software requirements, generate program design language and code based on department standards, and design, develop, test, and deploy software systems for customers.
  • Software Maintainability: Determine software maintainability and overall adherence to user requirements on department standards.
  • Documentation: Generate/update documents defining software product baselines.
  • Exploration and Innovation: Explore new areas or programs in new languages to deliver a complete product.
  • Customer Support: Support on-site meetings and deliveries to customers.
  • Leadership: Lead junior engineers and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Security Clearance: Active TS//SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of software development, object-oriented design, and programming, including architecture design, coding, and testing experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Web Services and JavaScript (e.g., ReactJS), container-based application development, and DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve customer and company goals, and supervisory experience for a team of engineers.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, experience with Postgres and MySQL, MongoDB, AWS and Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Fortify, CodeDx, Trellix, familiarity with Agile and/or DevSecOps procedures, and experience with Neural Networks/Machine Learning.
Security Requirements

Must have an active TS-SCI with a current CI Polygraph.
