Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Diocese of Orlando. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grounds Maintenance: Provide regular grounds maintenance services, including mowing, trimming, and pruning vegetation, as well as maintaining irrigation systems.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize restrooms, floors, and other areas as needed, using approved cleaning solutions and equipment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools, including cleaning, lubricating, and repairing as needed.
  • Trash and Recycling: Remove trash and recyclables from properties, and transport materials to disposal areas.
  • Event Support: Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for events and functions.
  • Safety and Security: Identify and report potential safety hazards, and ensure that all areas are secure and free from unauthorized access.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of grounds equipment operation, repair skills for minor equipment, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license and successful completion of Diocesan background screening and Safe Environment Training.
Working Conditions

The employee may be required to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, crawl, and stretch. The employee may also be required to lift up to 75 pounds and climb ladders. Exposure to climate changes, uncomfortable temperatures, and fumes. Works with machinery requiring considerable caution.
