Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Diocese of Orlando. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing grounds maintenance services, including cutting grass, landscaping, and gardening, as well as maintaining irrigation systems and performing janitorial support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides grounds maintenance services, including cutting grass, landscaping, and gardening.
  • Maintains irrigation systems and performs routine checks to ensure proper function.
  • Provides janitorial support services to staff, including cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, emptying trash containers, and recycling materials.
  • Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on equipment and tools.
  • Removes trash and recyclables, and transports materials to disposal areas.
  • Cleans and resupplies restrooms, including restocking toilet paper and soap.
  • Sets up and breaks down equipment and furniture for functions and events.
  • Services and reports mechanical malfunctions, and performs minor repairs as needed.
  • Identifies and reports potential safety hazards, and takes steps to mitigate risks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Relevant experience in a similar position preferred.
  • Knowledge of grounds equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb ladders.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions

The employee may be required to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. The employee may also be required to work with machinery and equipment that requires caution and attention to safety protocols.

Physical Requirements

The employee may be required to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, crawl, and stretch. The employee may also be required to lift up to 75 pounds and climb ladders.
