h3Job Description/h3pThe City of New Albany is seeking a highly motivated individual to coordinate quality recreational and leisure programs and activities. This part-time position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating overall parks and recreation programs, including sports leagues, camps, and special events./ppbKey Responsibilities:/b/polliAssist in the planning and implementation of recreational programs, including practice and concessions, camps, sports leagues, enrichment field trips, and special events./liliAddress public questions and concerns regarding recreation program offerings and related issues./liliPromote collaborative efforts with community organizations./liliInstruct and lead recreation programs and activities as required./liliMaintain a safe recreational environment for participants./liliCoordinate use of program area facilities in accordance with facility use agreements and/or regulations./liliAssist in taking calls and answering requests; screen calls and answer questions, route questions and complaints as required./liliAttend City and industry-related meetings, as required./liliFunction as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned./li/olpbRequirements:/b/polliExcellent organizational skills./liliAbility to professionally correspond with external and internal clients and vendors via phone, email, and written correspondence./liliExcellent attention to detail in an environment with rapidly changing data./liliInterpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor, and trust, both internally and outside of the Company./liliAccurate and timely completion of projects and/or reports./liliMaintenance of City information in a confidential manner./liliConsiderable knowledge of the principles, theories, and techniques of recreation programs in assigned program area./liliAbility to use independent judgment and take initiative./li/olpbMental and Physical Requirements:/b/polliAbility to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time./liliAbility to lift up to 50 pounds./li/olpbWorking Environment and Conditions:/b/polliThis position involves working within an indoor office environment around general office equipment, including computers and workstations, as well as outdoor venues such as ballparks./liliThis position may require working non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, and doing so in inclement weather./li/olpbEducation, Experience, and Training:/b/polliHigh school graduation or equivalency, 2-year college degree preferred and/or 2 years of recreation experience./liliSkilled in the use of computers, including word processing and social media marketing./liliMust have a valid Indiana Driver's License./liliCurrent certification in CPR/AED/First Aid, preferred./li/olpbEquipment and Tools:/b/polliComputer and peripherals./liliRecreational equipment./li/ol
