Cardiovascular Medicine Director

The University of Miami Health System, Miller School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catheterization Laboratory Director to lead our team of interventional cardiologists. As a key member of our cardiovascular medicine department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our cardiac catheterization laboratory and interventional cardiology section.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and interventional cardiology section, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient workflow.
- Clinical Protocol Development: Develop and implement clinical protocols and quality control standards to ensure patient safety and optimize patient outcomes.
- Patient Care: Provide patient-centered care and perform complex cardiovascular interventions, including angioplasty, stenting, and other procedures.
- Medical Expertise: Evaluate and manage patients with complex cardiovascular diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Education and Research: Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement by participating in and leading educational initiatives, such as grand rounds, journal clubs, and research projects.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Serve as a mentor and role model to junior colleagues, residents, and medical students, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Participate in administrative and committee responsibilities as assigned by the Chief of Cardiology.
- Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Certifications: Board certification in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease.
- Licensure: Current Florida medical license and DEA registration.
- Experience: At least five years of clinical experience as an Interventional Cardiologist.
- Skills: Demonstrated excellence in leadership, education, and academic pursuits, including research, teaching, and quality improvement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and hospital leadership.
