Job Description

Actalent is seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing residential and commercial projects, including mixed-use properties, sub-divisions, and site plans for multi-family and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare engineering construction documents for residential and commercial projects, including site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, earthwork, soil erosion and sediment control, and civil/site permitting.
  • Perform design tasks, such as layouts, grading, and drainage, associated with civil engineering projects.
  • Prepare complex storm water calculations and reports.
  • Prepare flood studies and flood hazard area permitting.
  • Ensure technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various plans, reports, and design documents.
  • Ensure that assigned projects are completed within the guidelines established by local, state, and federal laws, regulations, standards, and/or policies.
  • Maintain accurate records, notes, and other required documentation for assigned projects.
Requirements:
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in land development or water resources.
  • BS in Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • EIT preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of local city, county, and state land use processes and regulations in New Jersey.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.
  • Proficiency in grading and other site development-related designs.
  • Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, including knowledge of hydrologic or hydraulic software (HydraFlow, HydroCAD, StormCAD).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients.
