Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic I to join our team at UNFI. This role is responsible for the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of facilities, equipment, and company vehicles. You will identify, monitor, and troubleshoot problems, and maintain accurate records of work performed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair facilities, including basic plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Keep the warehouse grounds and parking lots clean and well-maintained, including snow removal and re-keying locks.
  • Repair and maintain dock doors, plates, epoxy floors, and racking as needed.
  • Provide recommendations for repair or replacement of poorly functioning equipment, prioritizing the repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule.
  • Conduct regular facilities inspections and assist in developing a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure a clean, secure, and well-maintained work area.

Requirements:

  • Able to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals.
  • Knowledge of production functions, basic computer skills, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Two years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment, with machining and fabrication experience highly desirable.
