Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician II to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our Central Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and decontaminate surgical and clinic items and instrumentation
  • Inspect and package single instruments and instrument kits
  • Select and utilize appropriate sterilization methods and cycles
  • Document all sterile processes and maintain accurate inventory assignments
  • Collaborate with preceptors to develop skills necessary to perform core functions independently
  • Rotate through all areas of Sterile Processing to gain a comprehensive understanding of department policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of experience in sterile processing or comparable experience required
  • Graduate from an accredited Central Processing program required
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technical Certificate from IAHCSMM or CBSPD required
  • Two or more years of experience in sterile processing or comparable experience preferred
Working Conditions

This role requires rotating weekend and on-call requirements, as well as exposure to the Operating Room environment. The position involves large amounts of time walking and standing, and frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds.
