We are seeking an experienced Senior Activity Coordinator who will organize and participate in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small-group facilitation, and large-group presentations. The ideal candidate will be able to document individual participation and the value of approaches in the medical record.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of residents
  • Create environments that foster moments of joy, independence, and wellness
  • Help design programs to encourage socialization and improve daily living skills
  • Provide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment for residents
  • Prepare and maintain reports on resident progress
  • Ensure activity areas are safe and well-maintained
  • Generate enthusiasm to encourage and motivate participation

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with people, particularly seniors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
  • Problem-solving skills
  • The ability to remain calm and adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to work under stress while remaining caring and kind
  • Ability to understand and work in a variety of situations in a positive and constructive manner
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Ability to be imaginative, creative, and innovative
  • Musical/arts crafts experience preferred
