Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the functions of the Accounting Department and will report directly to the Controller/Accounting Operations. This position involves performing various accounting and analytical tasks, including but not limited to:
- Preparation of standard journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations to support monthly financial closings.
- Verification and reporting of daily cash receipts and banking activities.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Recording and reconciling daily cash transactions, communicating with relevant teams regarding any missing documentation.
- Processing travel and expense reports from divisions for payroll reimbursement.
- Recording fixed asset entries and calculating depreciation within the accounting software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with accounting software, particularly Great Plains, is highly desirable.
- Understanding of journal entry structures and a comprehensive grasp of financial statements.
- Ability to work independently, follow directions, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
