Oil States Industries is seeking a highly skilled Mechanic III to join our team in Houma, Louisiana. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently performing diversified tasks related to product assembly, including motor alignments, clearances in gearbox shaft assemblies, coupling alignments, reline brake bands and assemblies, pneumatic piping, and complete hydraulic systems installation and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble products with minimal technical assistance from blueprints, drawings, and schematics, utilizing skills such as skilled parts fitting, press fitting, bolting, connecting, threading, aligning, calibrating, grinding, torch cutting, and flame heating.
- Prepare work by laying out the job, determining and assembling necessary parts and tools, constructing jigs, measuring, and consulting technical charts.
- Consistently produce high-quality work in an efficient manner.
- Keep work area and tools in good working order, inspecting all equipment used and performing any minor repairs.
- Process appropriate paperwork.
- May assist in other areas of the facility as needed.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Work at excessive heights.
- Minimum three years prior mechanical experience in a related industry.
- Familiar with shrink fits on bearings up to 36 inch DIA, and gears up to 140 inch DIA.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Basic mathematical and measurement computations.
- Good verbal and reading skills.
- Ability to operate hand tools, drills, cranes, forklift, grinders, indicators, sledgehammer, and other tools as required of the trade.
- Ability to follow simple and complex instructions.
- Pulling/pushing, bending, standing, throwing, kneeling, balancing, carrying, sitting, walking, crawling, crouching, reaching, climbing, unnatural body positioning, and working in a confined space.
- Lifting requirement of 45 pounds.
- Non-climate-controlled environment.
