Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care to inmates in a correctional setting. This includes assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to inmates in a correctional setting
  • Assess patients and develop individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Document patient information accurately and timely
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
Requirements:
  • Current, valid license as a Registered Nurse from the South Dakota Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • Ability to effectively treat patients on a daily basis in a variety of settings
  • Ability to follow patient confidentiality standards
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations involving offenders and/or medical situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Correctional nursing experience
  • Acute Care or Long Term nursing experience
  • Charge Nurse and/or supervisory experience
