Job Summary:
The Office of Information Technology at Brown University is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Network Engineer to play a critical role in planning, designing, and implementing all network-related services at the University.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement network strategies and solutions.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex wireless and ethernet networks.
- Develop and maintain network documentation and standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to network users.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the field.
- Represent the network team at various levels, including executive management, faculty, staff, and students.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on wireless and ethernet networks.
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and VRF-Lite.
- Experience with network security, including firewalls and VPNs.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including HA network configuration options and monitoring protocols.
- Experience with Cisco switching and routing, Aruba wireless networks.
