Job Title: Deputy Sheriff

County of Lehigh Pennsylvania is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff to join our team. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will play a critical role in maintaining law and order in our community.

Job Summary:

The Deputy Sheriff will be responsible for enforcing regulations of the Sheriff's Department at the full performance level. This includes safeguarding lives and property, transporting inmates, serving court orders and writs, and performing other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce regulations of the Sheriff's Department
  • Transport prisoners to and from various penal institutions
  • Serve bench warrants, domestic warrants, and probation violations
  • Maintain courtroom security and control prisoners
  • Provide security for courthouse, courtroom, County employees, and the general public
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Act 120 or Act 2 certification
  • Knowledge of law enforcement security and transport work
  • Ability to maintain order and control disruptive individuals
  • Ability to locate geographical locations and keep records
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the use and maintenance of handguns
  • Knowledge of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, the Rules of Criminal Procedure, and the Laws of Arrest
