Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NICU Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide high-quality patient care to infants in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement and evaluate care for infants in the NICU.
  • Attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments of newborns.
  • Create and revise care plans based on patient response to treatment and regularly evaluate plans for effectiveness.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of infants and communicate changes to the care team.
  • Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy.
  • Assist transport teams in stabilizing infants and provide necessary support and documentation for transfer.
  • Provide education and support to families on home care, treatments, adoption, and support groups.
  • Assist in high-risk deliveries and assist with resuscitation.
  • Delegate work to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice.
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a well-baby nursery as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a Level 2 or 3 Nursery - preferred.
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience in acute care - preferred.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred.
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
