At Northwestern Medicine, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and service. As a Host/Hostess, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of service and care.

Responsibilities

• Meal Tray Service: Pass meal trays to patients, ensuring that the correct tray is delivered to the correct patient.
• Tray Preparation: Accurately prepare patient meal trays, checking for content and diet compliance.
• Nourishment Provision: Provide all nourishments to patients, following established department policy and procedure.
• Tray Retrieval: Retrieve trays from patient rooms, record fluid and % intake consumed.
• Tray Cleaning: Clean and sanitize meal carts and equipment.
• Patient Satisfaction: Follow up with patients following meals to assure satisfaction.
• Menu Distribution: Conduct introduction rounds and distribute room service menus for new patients and those with changed diets.
• Menu Communication: Communicate menu selections to nutrition operator as needed.
• Inventory Management: Inventory and fill floor stock to par level.
• Supply Management: Stock supplies in an organized manner, rotating stock according to first in, first out method.
• Temperature Control: Take food temperatures and act upon any item out of appropriate range.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; or in lieu of high school diploma/GED, must have a minimum of 1 year relevant experience in any of the following: customer service, food service, retail or healthcare.
• Skills: Excellent customer service skills.
