Position Overview: The Compounding Specialist Pharmacist will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to our diverse patient population and healthcare providers in the New York area. Operating from our advanced laboratory facilities, we are committed to producing high-quality, effective compounds that cater to the needs of numerous patients. The pharmacist will be an integral part of our dedicated healthcare services team, collaborating to ensure superior patient care and satisfaction while striving to enhance the health of the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee compound production processes.
- Supervise team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Implement quality assurance measures.
- Manage order fulfillment tasks.
- Oversee workflow to optimize productivity.
- Verify prescriptions accurately.
- Provide clinical consultations to patients and healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures, as well as FDA and state regulations.
- Contribute to the development of educational and training initiatives, enhancing internal processes and technology utilization.
- Engage with the R&D team on innovative formulation projects.
Qualifications:
Education: PharmD required
Licenses/Certifications: Must be licensed in New York
Professional Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a compounding pharmacist (RPh)
Specialized Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of compound formulations and drug interactions.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management systems; experience with Micro Merchant Systems PrimeRx is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong understanding of ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes, as well as medical terminology.
- Proven leadership and management capabilities in dynamic environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in non-sterile compounding and knowledge of USP 795.
- Understanding of FDA regulations and New York State pharmacy laws.
- Preferred experience in sterile compounding.
- Knowledge of USP 797 and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient with Windows PC applications and capable of learning new software systems.
- Digital dexterity, including keyboard proficiency.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Physical Activities: Involves standing, sitting, reaching, grasping, lifting, walking, climbing, and kneeling.
Mental Activities: Requires sustained concentration and planning abilities.
Compensation Range: $50-$60
