**Job Summary:**

Orbital Traction Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing control systems, data acquisition systems, and specialty test equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems, data acquisition systems, and specialty test equipment
  • Support customer installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Develop primary control software and interfacing hardware components
  • Design electronics, electronic interfaces, and communication with Modbus industrial systems and J1939 engine control systems
  • Review, develop, and comment on technical documentation
  • Provide technical support to vendors as necessary
  • Develop testing requirements and participate in testing to ensure compliance
  • Develop independent analytical models and analysis tools

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline
  • 0-7 years experience in controls and automation system design and simulation
  • Strong proficiency in model development, simulation, and analysis in Matlab/Simulink
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office
  • Prefer experience with both Modbus and SAE J1939 or other CAN bus systems
  • Solid understanding of the verification and validation process
  • Experience in testing to improve reliability, HALT, HASS testing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
