Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for guiding lab tests in the areas of specialty, performing clinical laboratory procedures, examinations, and other tests pursuant to established protocols. This includes maintaining equipment and records, performing quality assurance activities, and exercising independent judgment and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and perform routine and/or complex laboratory tests and procedures relevant to the particular lab area.
  • Prepare and test specimens for examination and review and report results.
  • Follow established in-process quality control procedures, including recording data.
  • Perform routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic instrumentation, culture media, chemicals, reagents, stains, solutions, and technical problems and methodologies.
  • Maintain sufficient supplies at the work station.
  • Ensure and maintain quality control and assurance activities.
  • Use Infection Control practices and procedures, including wearing gloves, goggles, protective masks, and other safety equipment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Current License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 0-1 years of technical experience, required.
Additional Information:
