Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, adhering to established policies, procedures, and standards of care. You will also be required to perform duties delegated by the RN to facilitate patient care and efficient operations of the unit. Some specific tasks include collecting and inventorying patient belongings, completing charges using proper documentation, ordering supplies online or requisitioning them, and stocking supplies in designated locations. Additionally, you will need to count instruments and sterile trays sent and received from the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) as appropriate for your assigned unit. Furthermore, you will participate in staff meetings, demonstrate a cost-effective approach to patient care in terms of equipment, supplies, and other resource use, and engage in quality improvement activities. Lastly, you will be expected to assume responsibility for meeting mandatory requirements and performing related duties as assigned.
